Pilar Andújar, "LA GYPSY", began her dance training at the young age of seven and when she was seventeen years old she moved to Madrid to become a professional flamenco dancer.
She graduated with a superior degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco, a Bachelor's degree in Ballet and a Masters in Performing Arts.
She worked for years as a dancer and choreographer at the best companies such as Riverdance, Antonio Gades and with her own company at the Cervantes Institute in Istanbul (Turkey) or at the International Baltic Ballet Festival at the National Opera House of Latvia in Riga, Latvia
She has performed in Spanish embassies in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hanoi, Vietnam and has also choreographed for the National Classical Theater Company of Spain on different occasions.
The Carlota Santana Flamenco Vivo Company began giving him his roles as a singer and his debut as a singer was at the Joyce Theater in New York in 2002.
USA has given her due to her fifteen years dancing and singing in the country, "The green card" or American Residence for artistic merits.
Her fusion of traditional flamenco with New Flamenco has been called "Imperious, Dominant and Individual" by the New York Times of New York.
It was not until 2011 that she decided to take her songs out of the drawers and began to burn his first album "Andró", which was finished on June 30, 2017.
Andró means "On the way" or "Camino" in the gypsy language "Caló" and is a self-financed album without the help of crowfunding.
I chose this word because the album is born of a long and hard way to go through fears that did not let me be. Finally I decided to jump and I started another adventure that goes from the outside to the inside, without labels about who I am.
Writing songs has always been a natural way of putting everything in order since childhood. Even the fact of playing spinning a song, acting therapeutically so that everything else, even pain, passed to second place.
Although I have been singing for fourteen years for different bands and projects, it is the first time that I dare to release the character of the dancer and to put my inner voice on a disc, without secrets or limits.
Actually in this first year of Andró wonderful things have happened:
The song "La última palabrita" won the first prize of the competition "Nubo Film film production" and has toured the US, Mexico and Algeria
It was nominated in 7 different categories to the Min Awards 2018 (Of independent music).
For the first anniversary on June 30, 2018, I intend to launch this campaign so that this album reaches more people and with the money raised I would like to start recording the second CD.
