Loogic engloba:

Well, as everyone knows some years the crisis has come to tod @ s to a greater or lesser extent and unfortunately also came to my house.

I am a 28-year professional degree in History and Archaeology that after four years working for different parts of the peninsula had to return to her parents' house.

The "problem" of not having a job is that you have so much free time, and times when you think of a thousand things.

One afternoon meditation remembered the good times you spent as a child in the apiary disappeared from my father. I meditated on the problems that are happening these small insects, bees, so necessary for our survival. I thought about how little we have given in return for their hard work and effort, pollinate our crops and forests, and to keep us healthy both as to the nature that surrounds us with their constant coming and going.

It is known that bees are endangered, and if they disappear would disappear the most important pollinators of the planet and with them much of the first step of the food chain. It is said that if honey bees disappear, we would run plant in less than 4 years due to lack of pollinators.

With this thought I convinced my father to start beekeeping experience from 0, and with very little investment, and we were both unemployed. So we began to collect wooden pallets whoever we give, to dismantle, and a small sawing wood they had given us, to make hives. We launched these to the field and the first year 6 conseguios hives that survived the season only 3.

Today almost four years and based on that study already, videos, effort and stings, trial and error, we have almost 100 hives scattered around several settlements of Gibraltar and with a mortality of between only the 4-8% hives, normal is 20% of the hives.

What do we do to get healthy to keep bees?

To have better health and more self-reliant practice transhumance, which is move through the region depending on where the highest concentration of flowers in every season are. Usually in winter we put them into high mountains and in spring and summer to lower areas.

The observed throughout the year and depending on the health and behavior of bees, treat against diseases, feed with protein foods, syrups and essence of plants to withstand and feed in the lower flowering time, or change the queen if we see that this is about to die for a younger and stronger. Thus, we avoid the hive disappears.

Queens breed disease resistant and good producers of honey and pollen.

Replace the weak queens.

etc.

Normally, the beekeeper in our area, leaves the hive in the field and take only cares about honey has, without worrying about their welfare.

In addition, we have raised awareness and helped several traditional beekeepers to conduct proper management and treatment of bees. Sometimes we have found that products were used to treat diseases such as varroa, which are harmful to human health and even the health of bees. Or we have seen how much they have taken honey from their hives that these have not had food reserves for the winter and ended up disappearing.

The problem that we encountered once inicamos this project and we decided to do my best, was that despite our efforts, and knowing that we are doing something good for nature, we have to spend a lot hours in the whole process because due to the large number of variables that affect the health of a hive, to do a thorough each monitored throughout the year to ensure they are on track. Another problem we have is the little help from the Government of Andalusia to pay for their treatment, transportation, food or replacement of bees when they fall ill from diseases or pesticides, which adversely affects the economic viability of having so few hives. It is true that the largest number of hives, increased spending, but it is also true that the greater the number of hives benefit nature. and as many economic benefits.

Moreover, with such a small number of hives are not leaving profitable, neither in time nor money unfortunately keep operating. The only solution would increase to at least 500 hives.

So we ask collaboration to pay the costs of continuing the operation and increase the feasibility of knowing that help our environment.

You ask if, for every donation of 30 euros will mail a liter of honey thousand flowers green mountain to check your palate our work pays off in the form of exquisite honey among others.

For every 140 euros podreis sponsor a beehive for camapaña 2016 with what I send 1,250 kgs 4 jars of honey each different blooms to the address indiquéis us.

If you donuts 300 euros, in addition to the above, you podreis out in April-May 2016 to house a core consisting pictures 4-5, with a fertilized queen, born in 2016 and selected from our best queens. This way you can experience first hand what is the life of a beekeeper and will observe the laborious work of these small but essential insects. Always, if you wish, under our tutelación.

We send pictures or videos of our work and the development of the various settlements where we placed, and of course, whoever is invited to visit if everything keeps going to see first hand the work of a beekeeper.

Now we need treatment, food, and a vehicle to transport the hives to the highest mountain in late summer, where they spend the winter, and new hives for next year.

A greeting and thanks for your cooperation. With it we can further develop the rewarding task of preventing our friends the bees disappear from our fields and forests.
