WHO ARE WE? We are Marcos Antón and Miguel Oehling, two 22-year-olds recently graduated in Business and Finance who have decided to launch their professional career in a different way, founding "A Sponge´s Journey". It is a a personal, social and professional project that consists in a journey of collaborations with several NGO´s from Kenya to Australia while we promote and spread certain values and attitudes.
WHAT IS THIS PROJECT ABOUT? A Sponge´s Journey begins in Kenya, with a two-month collaboration at Nyumbani NGO. We are helping in their education and entrepreneurship program by giving entrepreneurship classes and workshops and a follow up consulting service to the beneficiaries of their microcredit. One of the many things Nyumbani does is offering is full education and care to over 1000 orphans (some of them VIH positive), from primary to a polytechnic school, and subsequently allowing them to access a microcredit for entrepreneurship (also provided by the NGO) with the aim of helping them become fully independent, selfsuficient and capable of building a future for themselves, after having been born in extreme poverty conditions.

Our job is to assist in the entrepreneurship program and help improve the efficiency of the microcredit, offer consulting services to the entrepreneurs and their businesses and to teach a local person in the basics of business entrepreneurship
After two months of working thoroughly as volunteers in all areas of the program, we will know where the money is most needed and how to help Nyumbani in their outstanding work. We have set ourselves a personal and physical challenge to raise money for the entrepreneurship program: climb Mt. Kilimanjaro´s 5895 meters, Africás highes mountain, located not far from Nyumbani´s headquarters. The funds raised will be donated to improving the quality and reach of the program (check project needs for further info)
