HéCTOR is a short film written and directed by Castro , based on an idea by Milo Taboada. It is a joint production by Almita Films -Castro- and Mango Lassi -Vibha DM & Mario Carbajosa-. Milo Taboada (Víctor) and Joan Sureda (Héctor) play the lead roles in ‘HéCTOR’. The cast will also include Adela Silvestre (Inés), as Víctor’s flatmate. With filming scheduled for the end of April, the story unravels, in first person, on the hours after Víctor finds out he is HIV positive. Back at his room, he, once again, meets his former lover -Héctor-. They will spend a night that will forever change the dynamics of their relationship. Both will face the silences, the words and the limits of such relationship.
CASTRO (director) was born in A Coruña. He has lived wandering through cities around the world. In London, he studied psychology and later, he also graduated in Film Studies. "Danae's Lovers", was his first major film, although earlier he worked in many visual projects with great poetic force. Currently, he is preparing his first book of poetry and has just finished the script for his first feature, "Scopophilia". Castro, has a particular visual style full of references from classic paintings, religious imagery, despite his atheism and a strong sensuous component. All this will give the film the power required to reach the viewer and get him into his world, not always pleasant, but at the same time attractive and magnetic.
Héctor and Víctor, the two protagonists of the story, will be played by Milo Taboada (Victor) and Joan Sureda (Hector). With extensive experience in the world of theatre, film and television, both actors will capture the intimacy and emotions of their characters. The actors will be placed at the centre of an extremely complex situation, and will face their characters’ contradictory emotions. Quite a challenge.
