Vivir en una de las ciudades más antiguas de América hace que tengas muy presente el valor de la memoria. Nos referimos a Santa Marta-Colombia, un lugar tranquilo y a la vez alegre. Su gente es como el clima, cálida, sin embargo hay problemas evidentes que han perdurado, como si todos los ignoraran.
De allí viene la raíz de "Control Z" donde una pastilla te permite borrar los recuerdos que pesan en el corazón.

(Live in one of the oldest cities in America does have a very present the value of memory. We refer to Santa Marta-Colombia, a place quiet and at the same time happy. Its people are like the weather, warm, however there are obvious problems that have endured, as if all ignore them. From there comes the root of "Control Z" where a drug allows you to erase the memories that weigh in the heart.)
Control Z es un cortometraje de aproximadamente 11 minutos de animación acerca del olvido como el estado de dejación y abandono en el que a veces caminamos, haciendo lo que debemos sin darnos cuenta que hemos dejado de vivir. Todo sucederá en un futuro cercano con animación 2D, 3D y con guía de movimiento en rotoscopia.
(Control Z is a short film of approximately 11 minutes of animation about oblivion as the State of dereliction and abandonment in which sometimes we walk, doing what we should do without realizing that we no longer live. Éste corto narra la historia de Adolfo, un joven fotógrafo que lucha por conservar un doloroso recuerdo en contra de un sistema que le ofrece borrarlo “por su bien”. Una crítica a la actitud indiferente hacia los problemas que nos rodean, como si ignorandolos dejaran de crecer.
(This short tells the story of Adolfo, a young photographer who strives to keep a painful memory against a system that offers you to delete it "for their own good". It is a critique of the indifferent attitude towards the problems that surround us, as if ignoring them cease to grow.)
1. Terminar la fase de producción, postproducción y promoción del proyecto Control Z usando las técnicas de animación 2D, Rotoscopia y animación 3D.
(Achieve the production, post production and promotion stage of the project Control Z using rotoscoping, 2D and 3D animation techniques)
2. Desarrollar en un periodo de 4 meses la realización de montaje, rotoscopia, diseño sonoro, musicalización, promoción y distribución del cortometraje.
(Develop in a period of 4 months the screening, rotoscoping, sound design, music scoring, promotion and distribution of the film)
3. Replicar los conocimientos adquiridos en la realización del cortometraje realizando talleres y conferencias sobre la experiencia a estudiantes de la comunidad.
(share the experience acquired in the realization of the short film making workshops and conferences to students)
4. Inmortalizar en imágenes animadas y fotografías la ciudad de Santa Marta y exhibirla a nivel nacional e internacional destacando la importancia de valorar nuestra memoria.
(Immortalize in animated images and photographs the city of Santa Marta and show it internationally highlighting the importance of valuing our cultural heritage)

Realizamos un teaser para buscar apoyo y hacer realidad nuestro proyecto, gracias a esto tambien contamos con estudiantes de diferentes entidades que llegan a reforzar sus conocimientos. Existen muchas maneras de ver el olvido, algunas positivas, otras negativas. Este cortometraje en específico se encamina a valorar los recuerdos, la historia que construye nuestro entorno y la capacidad de enfrentar el pasado tratando de resolver los conflictos aunque el proceso sea en muchas ocasiones doloroso.
(There are many ways for looking the oblivion, some are positive, others are negative. This short film specificly moves to appreciate the heritage memories from our city, the story that builds our environment and the ability to face the past, trying to solve the conflict even though the process is often painful.)
Así nace “Control Z”, porque para nosotros ignorar nuestra historia es caminar a ciegas hacia el futuro.
