In order to continue with the development of the legal process, we need to count on experienced professionals who are in line with our principles. Our needs include technical and juridical reports, document gathering and legal representation.
Our Financial needs are:
1. In relation to our environmental lawyer Cristina Alvarez – 7000 euros
Cristina Alvarez Baquerizo is our lawyer acting in protection of nature since 1982. She is a reference in Spanish environmental law and author of the books: “The Rights of Nature” (Los Derechos de la Naturaleza, 1986) and “Environmental law” (Derecho ambiental, 1988). She is providing necessary legal services to the Association “Ecocidio El Rio.”.. These services cover demands and contestations and judicial work taken against the Junta De Anadalucia.
2. Report on fauna, flora and Natura 2000 network - 1500 euros.
Inform about the state of the ecosystems of the area and protected areas. Inform, in particular, about the state of the protected fauna and flora species for whom the conservation area were designated.
3. Technical Report relating land uses and water abstraction in the perimeter of Aquifer Aguas (M.A.S. 060.008) - 1500 euros
The objective of this study is to quantify approximately the actual water abstraction of the AGUAS aquifer, which are affecting the river Aguas. It is based on a detailed cartographic study of the Land Uses in the territory on the perimeter of the AGUAS aquifer in the Sorbas-Tabernas region.
4. Travel Expenses – 2500 euros
In order to create awareness, David has presented the case of Rio Aguas at International events in Australia, Ecuador, and in European countries, (Germany, Belgium and Switzerland). His next event is the Geneva Forum, held at the United Nations, where David will explain the strategies that we have used and the results that we have achieved.
5. Presentation / Registration of the case – 1000 euros
Total expenses: 13.500,00 euros*
*Considering the uncertainty of the judicial process relating to this case, there is a chance that we will not use all money that we raise. In this eventuality we will donate surplus money to The Global Alliance for The Rights of Nature to be used in defence of The Rights of Nature.
